Teaching experience

My teaching experience in 3rd class

Procedures of teaching
In the beginning of the class, I checked students’ attendance and collected homework I had given them in 2nd class. Additionally, I gave back to them their homework with bank interest which I had all marked and reviewed homework‘s mistake. In this review, I taught them how to answer clearly to questions. Actually, some of them wrote the right answer, however, didn’t write clearly how to find the answer. Throughout this review, I want them to learn how they should answer questions.

After the review, I reviewed what students studied in the last class. Students remembered each kind of angles well and It’s easy for me to introduce today’s topic.

Slides for review

Next, I taught to students that the size of angle at point is 360° , the size of angle on a line is 180° and the size of right angle is 90°. I gave students some questions introducing each topic so students understood each topic using it in questions.

After I finished the introduction, I gave students worksheets to use new knowledge that they understood in the class. They solved exercises and some of them presented their answer in front of classmates. I gave 10 points to students who presented their answer to make them participate more to the class. Finally, I gave them a summary of today’s class and additional exercises.
Overall, I succeeded to do time management and complete whole my teaching plan in the class. Additionally, the level of my working sheets was appropriate to students’ level. 3rd class was the most successful class in all my classes.

Time management and organizing activities
I succeeded to do time management in 3rd class. I finished topic’s explanation in time with my teaching plan and could give students enough time to solve exercises. Furthermore, the level of exercises was appropriate for them so the time they spent solving it was also almost the same as the time I had expected in teaching plan. Because of enough resting time, I could give them a precise summary of what they learned in 4th class.

Classroom management
I had learnt that I should give a competition to 7A students in 2nd class. From that reason, I organised a small competition in 4th class when I called on some students. This competition was like a game and the same thing as what the Indonesian teacher did in her class. I count 3 seconds and students who want to answer on the board raise their hand after that. Only who raise his hand the fastest can answer and get 10 points.
It worked well and all students seemed to enjoy the class with this competition. I succeeded to make them more active in the class.

Problem which I found in class and how to solve it
To be honest, I didn’t find any problem in 3rd class. I succeeded to do time management and to make them active with the competition game. Furthermore, the level of exercises were fitted to them so there was no problem. 3rd class was the most successful class I experienced.
